Please forgive me sir
It is not my place to place my heart on exhibition
I am aware that a gentleman of such stature
Would never dare to fall in love with such a whore
Throw me to the wolves if you feel that my statements are too bold
Take to yourself, throwing pity, I’ll turn my heel, leave this city,
No one need ever know…
So forgive me sir,
I did not expect you to turn around and turn it all around
But if your talk of love is true, my good sir, there’s naught I can do
But give myself to you
They’re bound to know, they’re bound to disapprove
They’d never let me walk through their streets hand in hand with you
The pretty fishwife’s tongue of silver slips like honey
Through the ears of any folk who may be near
And so, my dear, we slip like water
Under cover of a sheet of stars
To guide us out of here
Take my hand and run with me
Across the glen and through the trees
And rid ourselves of these coats
No longer shall we need these
No longer shall we wear our hearts inside our sleeves
And they’ll sing
Lally-oodalally oollee-ay,
Oh,
Lally-oodalally oollee-ay,
Had the world seen real love before today?
So forgive me good sir
Don’t you worry yourself with my petty dreams
How would I even know what love is
Oh I’ll never know what love is
And I’d never have to hurt you
In the way it’s haunting me

The Raven & The Dove

Alone in the dark with my feathers of black
An omen of death and destruction
Cawing and crowing out for another
To take me, and make me some other
Until the day came that there rode past a King
Who heard my cries and took me under his wing
And when all my fears came into the light
I made my escape but I couldn’t take flight
But he looked to me; he looked straight into me
And cared for me into the morning
I crowed with glee when he came back to me
But I daren’t look for the warnings
For as the sun rose I heard the crows
Of the Dove who had fallen to mourning
And I cried out my songs of warnings and love
But he bid me goodbye and returned to his Dove
So I hide in the cave where he once stole my heart
I await his returns and I wail when he parts
For I am just a raven,
So lowly, I’m only
A raven, my love is unworthy
For I am just a raven
So lowly, I’m only
A raven, my heart is unworthy
For he left me alone,
In my cold, hollow cave
And returned to his dove
In her new golden cage
Showered her with love
And she cooed with delight
And there they stayed merry
Deep into the night
But her heart was breaking
And is breaking still
For she found my feather
On his cloak of silk
So he cried out his song of sorrow and lust
And he left me alone, he left our love to rust
And I was left breaking, left to mend my heart
For he knew that this was nothing from the start
For I am just a raven,
So lowly, I’m only
A raven, my love is unworthy
For I am just a raven
So lowly, I’m only
A raven, a heart so unworthy
But please don’t think I was left unaffected
After all it was you that he had protected
And why, oh why, did he clip my wings,
To dwell in the pain of our shame and our sins
So I must stay waiting, until he returns
I’ll dance in the fire, and I’ll deal with the burns

Watch out,
The pretty lights are calling you away from me
Out to the water,
Back out into the sea
After all, there's plenty more fish for me...
Oh, this is a Danger Zone.
And your shattered heart is scattered on my shore
This is a Danger Zone
The Lighthouse
Is calling out to warn you of the peril hidden here
Don't be too hasty
Don't you dare get too near
After all, you don't really know me, dear
Oh, this is a Danger Zone
And your shattered heart is scattered on my shore
This is a Danger Zone
So go to the water's edge
And dive for your freedom,
My dear, just get out of here.
For the siren's voice you're falling
But the lighthouse cries out his warning
You must get out of here
Oh, this is a danger zone
And your shattered heart is scattered on my shore
This is a danger zone
Wait for the daylight
To show all the night hides
For when the daylight comes
You'll see the treachery and the lies
No,
You wont be the one to survive...
